View Article  6 Balls on the Break by Alex Pagulayan
Title:  Alex Sets TV Tournament Record on the Break
Duration: 2.57

Players: Alex (The Lion) Pagulayan v Santos Sambujon
Venue / Date: 2004 BCA Semi-Final
Description: The most balls I've ever seen pocketed on the break in a televised event. Readers let me know if there is a better one. Alex makes 6 balls on his break in this 9-ball match and finishes with perfect position on the 6-ball, only to misread the speed of the cloth on his next shot and sell out to Santos.

View Article  Color of Money - 2nd Day Session

Title:  Color of Money Challenge - 2nd Day Session        Duration: ~48 minutes
Players: Efren Reyes (PHI) v Earl Strickland (USA)         Rating: 7/10
Venue / Date: 1996 Hong Kong.
Description: Early stages of perhaps the greatest 9-ball pool challenge ever staged and arguably the best comeback in pool history. In this series of 6 video parts Earl begins to assert his early dominance (pardon the pun) as he moves from 36-33 to a 47-39 lead.

The Color of Money as it was dubbed by Australian promoter Bob Moore, was a US$100,000 winner take all race to 120 frames held in an elite Hong Kong venue which was a Black Tie affair. I've read that the money was actually split 75-25.

This is a low resolution version of tape 4 of the full 13+ hour VHS 13 video tape series which is available from www.accu-stats.com for US$260.00. See: Hong Kong Challenge. In this match, Earl and Efren had accustats ratings of .912 and .911 respectively. Truly world class play!

Coomentary by Mark Wilson and well known Filipino announcer Ed Pecson.

Title:  Color of Money Challenge - Last Day                   Duration: ~110 minutes
Players: Efren Reyes (PHI) v Earl Strickland (USA)         Rating: 8/10
Venue / Date: 1996 Hong Kong.
Description: The Climax of perhaps the greatest 9-ball pool challenge ever staged and arguably the best comeback in pool history. In this series of 14 video parts Efren recovers from a 100 - 109 deficit to win the match 120-117. At one stage before this video series begins the score was 92-109 (I believe), Efren trailing by 17 frames, needing 28 with Earl needing just 11 to win the challenge.

The Color of Money as it was dubbed by Australian promoter Bob Moore, was a US$100,000 winner take all race to 120 frames held in an elite Hong Kong venue which was a Black Tie affair. I've read that the money was actually split 75-25.
